My daughters have both attended the close. My eldest went to 2 nurseries before coming to the close. The thing I noticed most was the professionalism love and care given to the children which is very different to what I experienced in other nurseries. I know my children are getting the best possible foundation at the close and feel really happy when I leave my two year old there twice a week. Nancy loves her days at nursery and is growing hugely through the support she gets. I have nothing but admiration and praise for the team, especially Lorraine, Amy Roxy and Tammy who between them have made a big contribution to the success of both my children’s lives. Emily is now at school and her school told me how different children that come from the close are with a much stronger eyfs. Grounding than other local nurseries. Thank you Lorraine and team
I just wanted to drop you a note to say how pleased we are with how Olive is settling into nursery. Jade has been an absolute super star in keeping us informed on how things are going, especially when Olive was a bit under the weather last week. It's so nice to be able to drop her off in the mornings knowing she will be loved and looked after so well - she clearly loves Jade and is always happy to be handed over to her when I go. It's really made my return to work so much easier. I never doubted sending Olive to The Close was the right thing to do, especially after Ralph had such a good experience, but I wanted to let you know it really was the best decision! I think you all do an amazing job, and I have been singing your praises to anyone I know who has little ones and who are looking for a great nursery.
We have been extremely happy with the care and dedication our daughter has at the Close. She is in the baby room and adores it! She is happy and settled coming to nursery every day; this is due to the caring, approachable staff and clear routines. It is a huge decision to choose a nursery for your baby/child and we are in no doubt that we made the right decision. Our daughter’s language and understanding has really increased since being at the Close and we are constantly impressed with her learning. The staff will tell us all about her day and show work she has produced. The targets we are given are informative to help us know how to support at home. An excellent nursery.
I wanted to send across some comments as Mum of a child in the baby room who has only been at the nursery for 6 months. My son started with The Close Nursery back in January at 11 months old, and from the offset he has thoroughly enjoyed his two days a week there. I have full confidence in leaving him in the mornings, we have never once had tears or upset and to me that speaks volumes and reassures me that my son feels comfortable and happy in the environment. Aimee, Jade and Louise are great and keep me well updated about how he has been that day upon pick up and via his diary. The activities are varied and creative and my son is always doing or making something new - taking part in messy activities that he wouldn't get to do at home! The targets set for his development are clear and communicated well via email and I have confidence that the team are trying to get the best out of my son on the days he attends. I am very happy with our choice of nursery and often recommend to friends when talking about childcare locally.
I’ve had 2 children come to the close nursery and they both loved it there my daughter who is 2.5 so still is attending and has various health issues I was really nervous about starting but needn't be she has come on leaps and bounds since starting back in January. Also the staff there have become more like family in the 5 years and are always available to have a chat about Lillie’s progress or any worries I have about her and for that I will always be thankful.
Thank you! I go to work each day knowing that Florence is in the safest hands. You and all the staff who interact with her are playing such a key role in her development, but more importantly the happy, sociable and funny child she is. You care about her as an individual and us as family. We just can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for us. You’re helping her grow into a child where nothing seems to phase her. She looks forward to going to nursery and talks about her friends and all the fun things she’s done. She’s even been known to pack her bag on a Sunday evening and wait by the door because she’s so excited to see you all! The team just seem to have this endless energy and positivity, even at 6pm on a Friday at the end of term!! The variety and creativity in all the things you put on for the kids is amazing. I know Florence especially loved ‘space week’ and ‘putting out the fire’ recently. Nothing has ever been too hard for you - helping us get to the bottom of her food intolerances, your loving messages and flexibility in helping Florence get back to nursery after she was unwell, your patience with her potty training, excellent advice in every situation, the calm way you support her when she’s emotional or pushing boundaries, and staff taking the time to put together ‘now and next’ cards for us to use at home. These are just a few of the reasons why we think you’re fantastic 🙂
Both of my children have attended The Close, I want to support and recommend the Close Day nursery. My eldest left over three years ago and the staff retention speaks for itself. My son has the same members of staff taking care of him. I am delighted with the consistency of care and stimulation my son has received from Baby room and Middle room and Big Room. Edward at 2.5 was already recognising all of his shapes, counting to 20 and know most of his colours. We receive regular developmental reports and suggestions from the nursery in the areas in which Ted needs to develop further. The staff have been incredibly supportive and I have received calls at work to assure me and to check that I was okay. The care and devotion the staff provide my child is remarkable. I am safe in the knowledge that I am leaving my child in with a well-informed supportive, caring and professional team.
We are so honoured to have secured Darcie a place at The Close, I have only been a handful of times as my wife drops Darcie off most weeks and we have nothing but praise and admiration for the staff. Everything they/you do for the kids is brilliant and quite honestly don't know how you do it! We have always been informed and dealt with extremely professionally but also with that family environment feel too. The ladies in the baby room in particular deserve a gold medal for what they have to deal with (Especially with Darcie) I would recommend anyone without hesitation to place their child with The Close. Darcie has really enjoyed it and is always happy after leaving making our lives at home so much easier.
There’s not a thing we don’t love about the close day nursery. It’s a close knit team that all take an interest in your children - whether they are in the same room as them or not and we feel it’s made a huge impact on how well and quick both our boys have settled in the baby and middle rooms. The girls have learnt Brock’s picky eating habits and work with us to get him trying foods, whilst abiding by his food rules to make sure he’s happy - Alisha is Brock’s key worker and he adores her, he chants her name at home a lot and she has worked tirelessly in making him feel comfortable the moment he arrives at the door. We’d also like to give a mention to Jade (Forrest’s key worker) who Forrest has settled with almost immediately and is developing more and more with each visit. The team are always accommodating in helping me get to and from the nursery from my car with 2 under 3s and many bags - the little things are never too much trouble and don’t go unnoticed. We also like how hands on Lorraine is! Often she is involved in one of the rooms, getting to know the children and was very welcoming, from the first phone call/visit - which makes all the difference at a very anxious time of finding the right fit for your children!
My son Huw has attended The Close Day School for last 2 years. I am very impressed with the high standard of teaching and childcare that Huw has received. It’s a lovely Nursery with fantastic environment for the children learn through play. I would definitely recommend this Nursery to friends and family. The staff have given Huw a good grounding to start school. Personally this is brilliant Nursery!!
The close day nursery has been amazing for my two children. My third child is due to start later this year. We have experienced all three rooms and are very impressed with the standard of care throughout the nursery. All of the staff are dedicated to ensuring that each child’s needs are met. Each child is treated as an individual and is made to feel very special. They are given the opportunity to experience lots of lovely and thoughtful activities that definitely make lasting impressions with the children. Lorraine runs a very happy nursery that I would recommend to any of my friends!!
I think The Close Nursery is a wonderful environment for children to grow in. They have kind and dedicated staff who really take the time to get to know you and your child. I am very pleased with the way my daughters have both developed whilst attending there. Lorraine and Alyesha have both been amazing is supporting us when we went through a very difficult family time recently and I cannot speak highly enough of them.
